In the eighties

The 1980's were characterized by sharp expansion of Japanese producers, which put the brakes on sales of European motorcycles and related parts, whether essentials accessories. In some cases, Japanese models produced in Italy (for example the XL 125 and 200) used Paioli Meccanica forks and Paioli shocks. This rewarded the quality standard of the Bolognese industries, but it was an exception.
In 1986, Paioli Meccanica founded its R&D centre in Tradate (Varese). This was the result of a market that demanded an ever-higher level of product, not only functional also in terms of design.
This research centre of Paioli Meccanica would become a driving force behind innovation, providing creative support and lending to uniqueness to products. That this choice was the right one was confirmed from 1990 to 1994 during the World Championships, where Tarres on Beta and Gas Gas dominated while using forks from Paioli Meccanica.
Between 1990 and 1993 Paioli Meccanica moved to its new factory in Minerbio.
