A test of "truth" for the Paioli

There is no doubt regarding its attractive design, with is copper-coloured leg, its strong Black PDV treated tube and the solid Ergal support. Paioli's new USD 125 GP has a wicked air about it and promises sparks. The various features, which have been illustrated to us by the company technicians down to the very last detail, also bode well.
Knowing about motorbikes is not sufficient to keep up with such sophisticated informastion! The front suspension is becoming a discipline that deserves a separate specialist report. We shall naturally avoid going to far into technical matters. This is a subject to be handled with care.
We observed the radial brake calliper which, despite not being new, is of great importance. All the necessary adjustments can be made, with Paoli spoiling us in this sense over the years. The adjustments include pre-charging the spring and also the variable axle base. The internal system, with a removable cartridge (comprised of anodised aluminium components only, is supplied with pressurised nitrogen.
We could continue to talk to you about discs, pins and other irrelevant bits and pieces, coined specifically in order to avoid talking about the really important solutions offered by this fork.
It is true that industrial secrets need to be kept and we saw enough at the Minerbio and Altedo di Malalbergo plants to believe not in the word, but in the reliability and commitment of this company.
And so, let's take a look at this essential part of the bike in action!

We were given a chance to do so at the Spanish Championship organised by DORNA. This was the last race in the Championship, with KTM, Malaguti and Aprilia starting from the front row.
It was a splendid day in Jerez de la Frontera, in Andalusia, and the party atmosphere of the race made us extremely hopeful.
Installed on the RCGM Bertinoro team's Aprilia 125GP, Paioli's USD 125 GP experienced the stress of the race for the first time. It was a real "baptism of fire”.
The race got underway and Gioele Pellino immediately demonstrated that he had nothing to fear from the other two front row riders.
The race was very eventful!
In mid race, the leading rider ended with his rear wheel off the track, shooting gravel projectiles at the riders behind him like a machine gun.
Gioele was out of luck! Those projectiles perforated his radiator. The motor performance went right downhill, meaning that the rider was forced to accelerate early when rounding the corner.
This resulted in his rear tyre slipping away from him and... the end of the race for him!
He rolled away in a spectacular fashion, followed by his bike, which fortunately went in another direction.

These falls evoke bloody dramas to us mere mortals. For Gioele, on the other hand, this fall was just an unfortunate incident. Luckily he came out of it unscathed!
The USD 125 GP was also unscathed, passing its first crash test with flying colours.
According to the rider and technicians, the Paioli fork really demonstrated its worth. It is solid and easy to calibrate to the rider's requirements, with programmable gears on the basis of the track.

We will be keeping an eye on the USD0125m GP!
